NASCAR at Martinsville weather guide: Chance of rain at the Cook Out 400

The NASCAR Cup, Xfinity, and Craftsman Truck Series head to Martinsville Speedway.

It's race week for the NASCAR Cup, Xfinity, and Craftsman Truck Series, all of which are heading to Martinsville Speedway.

In the 2025 NASCAR Cup Series Cook Out 400, William Byron secured the victory and was followed by Kyle Larson and Chase Elliott in second and third, respectively.

The Martinsville Speedway, which has been part of the NASCAR Cup Series since 1949, is a 0.526-mile oval circuit with only 12 degrees of banking in the turns and zero degrees of banking on the straightaways.

7.30 p.m. ET: NASCAR Craftsman Truck Series - Boys & Girls Club of the Blue Ridge 200

According to Weather.com, the cloudy Friday is set to have a high of 22°C with 40% humidity. However, rain could pose a threat to Craftsman Truck Series and Xfinity Series on-track sessions. As the sun sets at 7.38 p.m., the Truck race will get going under the lights of the Martinsville Speedway.

Saturday, 29 March

2.05 p.m. ET: NASCAR Cup Series - Practice
3.10 p.m. ET: NASCAR Cup Series - Qualifying
5 p.m. ET: NASCAR Xfinity Series - US Marine Corps 250

Temperatures on Saturday are set to rise to 25°C, and the chance of rain significantly drops to just 3%. Humidity rises to 44%. However, the Xfinity race, the US Marine Corps 250, kicks off at an earlier time of 5 p.m. ET. so daylight will not be as much of an issue as Friday.

Sunday, 30 March

3 p.m. ET: NASCAR Cup Series - Cook Out 400

Morning showers are expected ahead of the Cup Series Cook Out 400, and the chance of rain stands at about 35-40% throughout the rest of the day. Temperatures will reach a high of 24°C with 60% humidity.
